Along the Darwinian Path
My affair with photography goes a long way back. A camera of some kind has always been near my hand, and I hope that never changes. It wasn’t anything serious at first—just the usual habit of snapping pictures whenever I felt inspired. But in 2007, everything changed.
That year, I attended a diving course and was completely blown away by the enchanted world I discovered beneath the surface. I was hooked. I wanted to show my friends all the wonders I was experiencing, and soon enough, I was holding my first waterproof camera. It wasn’t much—just enough to face the initial challenges of underwater photography—but the urge to capture and share what I saw didn’t go away. Before long, I had my first underwater housing for my DSLR.
That marked the true beginning of my journey in nature photography: slowly emerging from the abyss to the mountain ranges—literally. My photographic diet of coral gardens, curious critters, and forgotten wrecks gradually gave way to birds and sweeping landscapes. These days, my primary focus is on the latter—birds and landscapes are my favorite subjects.
The urge to share the wonders I encounter still hasn’t faded. From the misty jungles of Papua to the dancing Northern Lights far above the Arctic Circle, I try to capture the magic and bring it home for others to enjoy. Some of those moments are featured here—I hope you’ll enjoy discovering them.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive recognition for my work. I was named Underwater Photographer of the Year twice in Hungary, and to this day, I am regularly placed at nature photography festivals around the world. My images have appeared in a number of publications, including National Geographic Hungary, Outdoor Photographer, Tauchen, and Unterwasser, among others.
You can find some of my work in my photography portfolio.
